Exercise on the Railyard has something for everyone!

Functional fitness, a physical conditioning method, has become the standard for fitness programs over the past decade. By definition, functional conditioning will prepare you to optimally function in a sporting activity, your career, or in the course of your daily life. Whether you're on the field, court, in the warehouse, fighting a fire or carrying a grocery bag with a toddler in the other hand, you are physically required to move in multiple planes, twisting rotationally, stabilizing and balancing to keep from falling over, accelerating and de-accelerating, squatting, ducking, jumping and crawling. Exercises on the Railyard duplicates all these motions and will strengthen you in a way you will be able to perform these tasks in a more precise and functionally correct manner. Exercise on the Railyard will allow you to perform in all aspects of your life with more confidence, and with a greatly reduced chance of injury.

Structured exercise programs on an obstacle course have been in use by professional and elite athletes for over 80 years. Over that time, the exercises and sequences in which they are preformed have been perfected to such a degree, this type of training is utilized by professional athletes from every sport.

Whether you are 5 or 95, a professional football player or a professional homemaker, a 3rd grade soccer player or a 65 year-old softball player, a marine sergeant or a firefighter, exercise on the Railyard has something for you—results like you’ve never see before!

Testimonials

"Our school uses the Railyard Obstacle Course — every PE program in the country should have a Railyard in their program. Students enjoy exercise on an Obstacle Course — it gets them moving in ways they have not moved before — the exercises makes them stronger — improve their strength — provide cardiovascular conditioning, agility, and body balance. The Railyard is a great tool by itself — but after using the Patch Fitness program on it, the students will be prepared and will be more successful in all their movement activities."

Phil Lawler
PE4life - Director of Education and Training

“If I went into a new school and could only buy one thing, I would buy the Railyard. It’s versatile and meets the various needs of our program. (Maybe we should say it supports the PE4life principles we implement in our program). With a limited budget, I’d buy that. It makes total sense."

Elaine Alexander
PE4life Academy Director, Kansas City, Missouri School District

"Physical Education teachers are constantly searching for a fun way to teach the important locomotive skills necessary for students to perform efficiently in functional fitness routines. By utilizing the obstacle course as a training device, students have to experience moving their bodies through a wide variety of activities and movements. Included in this experience is increased balance and body control through the use of large muscle groups, as well as small muscle groups, which are strengthened and developed. This promotes improved body awareness and balance critical to efficient movement. One of the great aspects of using the obstacle course is that both sides of the brain are utilized to perform the challenges the course offers, when students have to move across the midlines of their bodies. Students actually have fun meeting the challenges of the course, which disguises the fitness benefits derived by participation. Therefore functional fitness, fun, brain cells are stressed, and individual challenges met; all become byproducts of participation in the obstacle course."

Instructional Coordinator, Physical Ed.

"I am Mary Cromer from Cass Midway School in Cleveland, Missouri. We have an obstacle course and I use it with my K-6 elementary PE classes. I incorporate them into my stations. The kids love it! They like to see what different ways I put it up and the different ways they can climb, walk, jump over, crawl under, and pull themselves back up! It’s so cool! Teach the safety rules, and they should follow them. It is a GREAT addition to what I do. We are even trying to get MORE pieces!"

"I love obstacle course training and the Railyard Obstacle Course is the ideal platform for the workout. The Course is easy to use; I can set it up in different layouts when I'm training an individual client, a group training session, or in my group-x class. I use this type of training because it challenges the entire body’s strength, coordination, balance, cardiovascular condition, and flexibility and does so in a very natural way. My clients and students of all ages love it because it is fun!"
