Gigi's Playhouse Interactive Gaming System

Gigi’s Playhouse is an achievement center focused on offering programming for people with Down Syndrome. The free programs are educational and therapeutic in nature to individuals with Down syndrome from birth through adulthood, their families and the community. These programs help advance literacy, math skills, motor skills, and much more. Programs are created by professional therapists and teachers who generously donate their time and expertise. All programs are based on best practices for Down syndrome learning styles, and customized to ensure individual success. With over 30 locations throughout the United States and Mexico, Gigi’s Playhouse makes a difference every day.

Gigi’s Playhouse in Des Moines decided to add an interactive projection system to their already impressive list of programming. The EyePlay is a projection system that turns any area into a virtual indoor playground. With colorful graphics and sounds projected onto the floor, multiple people can interact with it at once. It’s especially beneficial for people with special needs like Down Syndrome because it can enhance focus, fun, and excitement. With a wide range of games, kids and adults can be entertained for hours! Exergaming has a proven to make a huge impact on people with special needs.

“We absolutely LOVE it!! It’s been great for all ages and skill levels. Parents and siblings are also enjoying it too. It’s great for learning cause and effect, strengthening gross motor skills, foot eye coordination, turn taking, and practicing good sportsmanship” says Jessica Lane, Site Director, GiGi’s Playhouse Des Moines.
