Midtown Athletic Clubs are apart of one of the biggest and most successful health club/wellness center chains in the industry, each club serving a huge variety of different fitness needs from age, activity level, rehab/therapy, youth fitness, alone or group. So back in 2014 when we had the chance to do an installation at Midtown Bannockburn for several exergaming products, we were ecstatic.

Midtown Bannockburn originally had 3 pieces of equipment installed (T-Wall 32, EyePlay Floor, and Heavy Ball), and months later had a Pavigym Sprint 3.0 installed in the same space. The space these pieces are used in is a kids fitness/day center area, meeting a couple different needs. Not only do the parents get to workout stress free because their kids are safe, but they are also occupied with something that is so fun that they forget that they are being active or ‘working out’. All of these machines are also perfect for a day care situation with lots of kids to keep busy, it is very simple to play multiplayer games on the equipment both built into the machines and external programming.kids fitness games

The important part about this kids area is not only the benefit for the kids, but for the adults at the club to see how useful the equipment is as well. Virtually all of our interactive fitness equipment can be used by any age or activity level, with adjustments to programming and functional exercises. So when the adults see the equipment in action in the kids room, they want to play with it too, and before you know it an entire club is exergaming and buzzing about interactive fitness.

With the trends of Midtown members across multiple locations, it is easy to see this happening. A T-Wall can be used at their club for paid group fitness classes and be used by the child care center, and in between used by members. So not only does it help drive your membership rate up but it helps your existing members to get in engaged in additional fitness classes/courses. This can be exceedingly useful with senior group workouts and other activities that need special attention and exercises.

As we saw with the addition of the Pavigym Sprint 3.0 – this equipment is addicting. Once you get a taste of the fun and see the benefits of the interactive fitness equipment, it is hard to get just one piece.

We know in the future Midtown will continue to support exergaming and its mission to engage everyone in fitness and healthy lifestyles. You can see T-Wall, Heavy Ball, and even more products at the IHRSA 2016 Trade Show this year, click here to see more.

Our philosophy is to create fun, exciting environments where the worlds of technology and fitness intersect.
